La renommée internationale de l'artiste n'est également plus à faire. Elle a, entre autres, représenté le Canada à quatre grandes expositions internationales : à la Biennales de Montréal (2000), à la Biennales de Venise (1990), aux Biennales de Sydney, en Australie (1988, 1990) et à la Biennale de Sao Paolo, au Brésil (1987).&lt;/p&gt;   &lt;p&gt;Geneviève Cadieux est née à Montréal en 1955. Dès ses études universitaires en arts visuels à l'Université d'Ottawa, elle sait ce qu'elle veut faire dans la vie. Bien qu'elle s'adonne quelque peu à l'enseignement, d'abord à l'Université Concordia de 1991 à 1993, puis à titre de professeure invitée à l'École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris, en 1994, et à l'École nationale des beaux-arts de Grenoble, en 1996, jamais elle ne pourra s'y consacrer plus qu'occasionnellement. « L'enseignement, c'est quelque chose de temporaire. Ça m'enlève trop de temps. C'est très exigeant. Mon travail se trouve ralenti par ces cours. » (Karine Charbonneau, « Geneviève Cadieux ou comment vivre pour l'art »)&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p&gt;Depuis 1985, elle a exposé en solo, tant sur la scène nationale que sur la scène internationale : au Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal, au Canada; au Musée départemental d'art contemporain, à Rochechouart, en France; au Museum Van Hadendaagse Kunst, à Anvers, en Belgique; à la Tate Gallery, à Londres, en Grande-Bretagne; au Pittsburg Center for the Arts, à Pittsburg, aux États-Unis. En 1993, elle a fait l'objet d'une importante rétrospective au Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p&gt;L'art de Geneviève Cadieux fascine à plusieurs égards. Elle applique une logique photographique jumelée à l'habitation physique d'un lieu précis, issue du concept de l'installation. Au fil des ans, elle ajoute des éléments à sa démarche artistique, travaillant alors avec l'image vidéo et le son. En exploitant les capacités de stimulation que proposent ces médiums, elle met en scène le spectateur, qui se voit confronté au discours de l'artiste ainsi qu'à ses propres réactions émotives et sensorielles. Là repose la magie de la démarche de Cadieux. Le spectateur ne demeure pas passif devant l'œuvre, contemplant un objet uniquement pour ses valeurs esthétiques; tout au contraire, il se voit transporté dans un univers personnel, celui de l'artiste, soit, mais aussi et surtout dans le sien, où seul il peut comprendre ses réactions.&lt;/p&gt;   &lt;p&gt;L'œuvre de Cadieux exploite habituellement une iconographie du corps qui exprime un questionnement sur l'identité, les difficultés de la communication interpersonnelle, le désir, la perte, l'angoisse. Son discours est aussi fréquemment influencé par des références artistiques, comme pour la pièce &lt;em&gt;La Voie lactée&lt;/em&gt; inspirée par &lt;em&gt;À l'heure de l'observatoire -- Les Amoureux&lt;/em&gt; de Man Ray, et des références littéraires, comme pour &lt;em&gt;La Blessure d'une cicatrice ou Les Anges&lt;/em&gt;, où l'on retrouve un dessin du Petit Prince de Saint-Exupéry, ou encore pour &lt;em&gt;Broken Memory&lt;/em&gt;, inspiré d'un poème du XVIIe siècle de sœur Juana Ines de la Cruz.&lt;/p&gt;     &lt;p&gt;Depuis quelques années maintenant, le travail de Cadieux s'éloigne de la représentation du corps humain et intègre davantage des images de paysages. Au cours de ce processus, le paysage s'est curieusement inscrit comme une équivalence du corps. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;span style="font-family:VERDANA, HELVETICA, ARIAL;font-size:85%;"&gt;Le &lt;i&gt;Portrait&lt;/i&gt; de l'arbre seul est un hors-temps. L'espace de l'image, couplé à l'espace-temps du vent, invisible et immatériel, crée un lieu allégorique où se joue la rencontre de la présence et de l'absence. Ce lieu allégorique pourrait aussi être nommé la blancheur de l'image. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:VERDANA, HELVETICA, ARIAL;font-size:85%;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; Este evento anual, é uma manifestação comercial e artística que reúne galerias, colecionadores, personalidades do mundo da arte internacional, assim como curiosos anônimos e amantes da arte como eu. Porém, ao que parece, somos cada vez mais não-convidados. A entrada da feira custa 25 euros. Meia entrada somente para estudantes de arte, ou talvez estudantes em geral menores de 26 anos.&lt;br /&gt;Notas sobre as questões de acessos e restrições da arte atual à parte, fiquei muito contente em estar aqui e poder ver, afinal, o que estão “vendendo na feira”! &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;Vou citar alguma coisa que de que gostei, como uma fotografia de Pilar Albarracín, “Pata Negra”. Uma artista espanhola (Sevilha) que questiona a hierarquia tradicional dos gêneros através do vídeo, da performance, da escultura, da fotografia e da instalação. Traduzindo (com o perdão do meu Francês) um texto de uma exposição da artista na Maison Rouge: “Ela se apóia sobre as características culturais e ritualísticas da sua Andaluzia natal para colocar novamente em questão a divisão dos papéis feminino e masculino e os fundamentos da identidade sexual.” Um trabalho forte e pertinente. Gosto quando a imagem me causa algum desconcerto, quando há qualquer coisa de desconfortável que nos obriga a uma interrogação ou reflexão. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5268836527781751410" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 213px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_bmwNfhQ1aIs/SR6q6BIIqnI/AAAAAAAAAD8/OuqpAqSX19c/s320/pata+negra.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;Outra obra que vi, foi uma escultura da série Sphinx, de britânico Marc Quinn. Onde ele esculpe a artista Kate Moss (amiga do artista) em poses contorcionistas de Yoga. Com um buraco no olhos e o sexo sendo ofertado, a obra ilustra o contraste entre nosso desejo projetado e a desumanização da Top Model. Mac Quinn (traduções tabajara!, mais uma vez): “É uma escultura que não representa Kate Moss, mas sua imagem. As duas são separadas. Nós criamos as imagens que aspiramos, mas que são impossíveis de atingir, que mesmo Moss não pode alcançar”. Quinn esculpiu também seu rosto com seu próprio sangue congelado e depois esculpiu o rosto do seu recém-nascido com a placenta congelada de sua mãe. Um trabalho conceitualmente denso e esteticamente perturbador. Vida, existência, corpo, identidade, fragilidade, o ideal, o anormal... essa complexidade da arte contemporânea é realmente apaixonante. Beard apaixonou-se pela África depois de ler o livro &lt;em&gt;Out of Africa&lt;/em&gt;, de Karen Blixen, sob o pseudônimo de Isak Dinesesn. Morou no Quênia, nas proximidades da propriedade dessa autora com quem passou a ter também uma relação de amizade. Fotografou performances artísticas de Salvador Dalí, coloborou com trabalhos de Andy Warhol e Truman Capote entre outros. Fotografando pela revista Vogue, levou modelos para a selva, tendo como resultado belíssimas imagens de nus femininos.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Peter Beard é tanto fotógrafo como ilustrador, pratica a arte da colagem e mantém um diário ilustrado desde criança. Recentemente a editora Taschen publicou uma edição de luxo com trabalhos do artista. São 250 exemplares todos enumerados e assinados pelo autor. A quem possa interessar o livro custava 12.500 dólares. Sofia Lagerkvist, Charlotte von der Lancken, Anna Lindgren e Katja Sävström trabalham envolvidas no processo de design de um produto, das discussões e idéias iniciais ao produto final. Seus trabalhos têm como base debates comuns explorando e investigando tópicos diversos. O Resultado final geralmente comunica uma estória sobre o processo em si e convenções dentro do campo do produto ou o material de que é feito. O grupo busca entender a relação entre objetos recentemente projetados e objetos já existentes e o que diferencia os objetos uns dos outros dentro de uma categoria – onde o objeto comum termina e onde um novo produto distinto começa?&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;O projeto Sketch Furniture apresenta uma tecnologia de reconhecimento de movimentos que traduz objtos feitos no ar em um arquivo 3D que depois é transformado em um móvel de verdade com uma impressora a laser que solidifica plástico camada por camada. Antes de se tornar um mestre da fotografia, foi nas finanças que ele começou sua carreira, após seus estudos na academia de comércio de Budapeste. A partir de 1912, ele começa a imortalizar os rostos e paisagens que cruza. Alistado nas forças armadas austro-húngaras durante a primeira guerra mundial, capturou diversas imagens do conflito, mas infelizmente a maior parte dos seus trabalhos foram destruídos durante a revolução húngara de 1918.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Em 1923, ele se instala em Paris para dedicar-se a sua paixão. Lá encontra personalidades como Man Ray e Brassaï, com quem ele compartilha seu saber, ou ainda Marc Chagall, Brancusi, e outros artistas de quem ele faz retratos com satisfação. A vanguarda o seduz, e ele não cessa de multiplicar os ângulos de suas capturas, de acentuar os contrastes e de mobilizar técnicas experimentais. Seus ensaios com a composição de objetos e cenas e a luz natural também são notáveis.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Expõe e trabalha igualmente pra muitas revistas como a Vu e a Vogue. Em 1933, ele realiza sua série mais famosa, “Distorcions”, em português, “distorções”, reflexos de nus num espelho deformador. Em seguida ele deixa a França por Nova Iorque, e continua a trabalhar para a imprensa. Seu estilo particular era por vezes incompreendido e embora depois de adoecer, em 1963, ele tenha parado definitivamente de exercer sua arte no quadro profissional, Kertész fotografa até seus últimos anos de vida. De origem húngara e nacionalidade americana, André Kertész, antes Andor Kertész, nascido em 2 de julho de 1984 viveu até os 91 anos.
